Bluebird Music Together Policies and Procedures
The following policies and procedures have been put in place to provide accessible, safe classes for you and your children. Please help to make our classes run efficiently by adhering to the following guidelines.
Requirement for Classes: At checkout, families will be required to agree to our Policies and Procedures in order to attend. You are responsible for ensuring that any adult who brings your child has read and understood the policies, procedures, and waiver prior to attending the class!
Health Policy:
We care about the health and safety of our participants and staff!
Before you leave home: Please do a quick self-assessment and stay home if you or anyone living in your home is showing any one of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell. If you are showing any signs of illness, please refrain from attending, and schedule a make up class when symptoms resolve.
We will switch to online classes if NY state mandates health protocols. There will be no refunds or credits due to moving classes online.
When you arrive to class, please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when you enter. Instruments will be provided and are cleaned and sanitized before and after use.
Refunds/Credits:
For new families, there is a one-time $10 fee that is non-refundable. No tuition refunds are given after classes begin. Once the class session has started, your seat is reserved for you, and it's your responsibility to attend class, and/or schedule make-up classes as needed. We cannot be held responsible for your attendance or lacktherof.
Make-up policy: If you miss your regular class, you may attend a make-up class, space permitting. Make-up classes must be taken within the current session and must be scheduled in advance by using our Make-up Class Scheduler on our website. Makeup classes are NOT guaranteed and are available in classes with empty seats only. Makeup seats are limited.
Attendance: Please attempt to arrive 5-10 minutes before your class start time. We will make every effort to begin and end class on time. Please try to attend your regular class as many times as you can. Consistency is best for your child, and make-up seats in other classes are limited.
Teachers: Occasionally, we may have a substitute teacher cover for the regular teacher, in the event of illness or family emergency. We appreciate your understanding when such situations arise.
Inclement weather and Holiday closures:
If we can not hold your regular class due to weather or illness, we will text or email all affected families. it will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages as well. If there are no special messages, you can assume we are holding classes. You can check those online resources listed, or call or text (315) 427-6985 if you are unsure. In-person classes that need to be closed due to weather or illness will be rescheduled one time only. If multiple emergency cancellations are needed, makeup classes will be offered. For snow closures, we typically follow the school closings in the town where the class is held.
Please Note: Bluebird Music Together does NOT follow class closures during the public school holidays or holiday breaks.
In the event of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or community crisis requiring the cancellation of our live classes, we will make every attempt to offer additional classes, semester extensions, or reasonable alternatives including online classes. There will be no refunds offered if live classes need to be canceled due to local community shutdowns/ quarantines.
We are not able to offer refunds or credits for classes that are canceled for reasons beyond our control.
Visiting guests: You may bring more than one adult family member anytime without calling ahead. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, etc. are welcome! Please check in advance before bringing visiting children. Older siblings may attend class one time per semester at no additional charge, but please call ahead to assure there is space. If you need to bring a sibling more than once, there is an $20 drop-in fee. Guests are encouraged to fully participate as active members of the class.
Media Release: From time to time photos or videos may be taken during class and used only for the purposes of promoting our classes on our website, fliers, and/or social media pages. By agreeing to these terms you agree to have your and/or your child's photo taken and used for such purposes. You may opt out of this at any time by notifying [email protected]
Liability Release: By attending class, you agree to release Bluebird Music Together and its associates and facilities liability relating to injuries, damages, or illness that may occur inside a class or outside class when using class activities.
Valuables: Bring all valuables into the class area with you.
Participation: We urge you or your child's caregiver to participate in class. The children are free to develop naturally and in their own time and style. Keep in mind that you are here as a model for your child even if you aren't feeling particularly confident about your own musical abilities. If your child sees you making music and having a good time, he or she is more likely to develop that disposition. So relax, let your child "be", and have some musical fun!
We reserve the right to modify or change our terms of service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any 3rd party for modifications, price change, suspension, or discontinuation of service.
